My Job as a Lifeguard

One of the most rewarding jobs I’ve ever had is working as a lifeguard . I started lifeguarding because I’ve always loved swimming and being around the water, but I quickly realized it’s a job that comes with a lot of responsibility. Every time I’m on duty, I have to stay alert, focused, and aware of everything happening around the pool. It’s not just about sitting in a chair and watching people swim — it’s about keeping everyone safe and being ready to act instantly if something goes wrong. I’ve gone through intense training in CPR , first aid , and water rescue , and those skills have made me more confident in my ability to help others. One thing I really like about lifeguarding is how it teaches you to stay calm under pressure. There are moments when things can happen fast, and you need to make smart decisions right away. Working with other lifeguards has also shown me how important teamwork and communication are — we all rely on each other to keep people safe. Beyond the ser...

Parent Day with My Family

This past weekend was Parents' Day for my fraternity, and it turned out to be one of my favorite days of the semester. My mom, stepdad, and sibling all came up from New York City to visit, and it meant a lot to have them here. We spent the day at my fraternity house, meeting everyone’s families, and enjoying the planned activities. After Parent Day ended, my mom hosted a BBQ at her Airbnb and invited some of my friends to come over. It was such a fun night — we grilled food, sat around a fire, and just talked and laughed for hours. It felt great to have my family and friends all together in one place, sharing food and making memories. I’ll never forget that weekend because it reminded me how lucky I am to have people who support me no matter what.

Why Swimming Is One of the Best Exercises

Swimming is one of my favorite ways to stay active and healthy. What I love most about it is that it works out the whole body while still being easy on the joints. Whether it’s doing laps, practicing different strokes, or just relaxing in the water, swimming helps improve strength, endurance, and flexibility. It’s also a great way to clear my mind and reduce stress after a long day. I enjoy how peaceful it feels to move through the water and focus only on my breathing and rhythm. Plus, swimming can be both fun and challenging. You can go at your own pace or push yourself to swim faster and farther. Overall, I think swimming is one of the best forms of exercise because it keeps you fit, calm, and refreshed all at once.

Campus Gym Experience

Going to the campus gym has become one of my favorite parts of the day. It’s not just a place to work out—it’s where I can focus on myself and take a break from school stress. I usually go in the afternoon when it’s not too crowded, and I like to start with some light cardio before moving on to weights. Over time, I’ve learned how important it is to keep a consistent routine, not just for physical health but also for mental well-being. Working out helps me clear my head, improve my mood, and gives me energy for the rest of the day. I’ve even made a few new friends who share similar goals, and we sometimes challenge each other to try new exercises. Overall, the campus gym has become a big part of my college life—it keeps me active, balanced, and motivated to stay on track with both fitness and school.
